Wendy Streatfield

Wendy Streatfield is a brand design professional with more than 20 years of industry experience, specialising in human-centred brand strategy, communications, and organisational identity. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to understanding the needs and perspectives of diverse stakeholders and helping organisations communicate with clarity, authenticity, and purpose.

Appointed in 2024, Wendy joined the Brisbane Montessori School Board and now serves on the Marketing and Communications Sub-Committee. Her lived experience as a long-standing parent, combined with her professional expertise, gives her a nuanced understanding of how schools can meaningfully express their values and strengthen community connection.

Wendy has been an active member of the Brisbane Montessori School community since 2017, with one child currently in the Lower Primary program and another who has graduated from Upper Primary.

Beyond her involvement with the school, Wendy is a founding member and Director of Screen Sanity Australia, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness about children’s screen health and digital wellbeing. She played a key role in establishing the organisation from the ground up and continues to contribute to its governance, strategic direction, and communications.

Wendy’s areas of expertise include brand strategy, marketing, communications, community engagement, stakeholder engagement, not-for-profit governance, and organisational identity. She has also applied her design and communications skills within the education sector, further informing her approach to school-based governance.

Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts (Music), a Certificate in Advertising, and governance training from Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ).

Her commitment to Brisbane Montessori School is both personal and values-driven. Having witnessed the impact of Montessori education on her own children, she brings a thoughtful, human-centred perspective to the Board, along with a belief that clear, authentic communication fosters trust, belonging, and shared purpose across the school community.
