“He has no need of adult influences to call out his activity, a tranquil environment suitable to the interests of his age an the freedom to follow the promptings of his own inner need are sufficient for him.” Dr Maria Montessori

Brisbane Montessori School is fortunate to offer picturesque views of the Brisbane River - a truly unique educational experience. With abundant open space and fresh air, our campus is located just 12km from the Brisbane CBD. As we are nicely nestled within a nature reserve, our students enjoy plenty of shady trees and open spaces for play and exploration every day.

Our grounds, buildings, and facilities are well preserved by our highly skilled grounds staff, whose continuous and meticulous maintenance  make our campus standout.

You can read more about each of our facilities below.

Classrooms

Each classroom from our Independent Toddler Community through to Middle School has been purpose-fit to the highest Montessori education standards. Classrooms
are installed with both air conditioning and heating, and from Lower Primary through to Middle School feature a full-sized kitchen. They also have easy access to water bubblers and amenities.

Nganbirra Hall

Located at the heart of our school campus, Nganbirra hall is a spacious 235sqm multipurpose area complete with polished hard wood floors. The hall has a sound system, large screen and projector, microphone capabilities, and amenities.

Used for activities such as health and physical education, school assemblies, dance, and drama, the hall is also available for hire to the school community and public, outside of school hours. During school hours, there are also limited days and times available for hire.

Students from Lower Primary to Middle School enjoy a large 790sqm area that is utilised for Health and Physical Education classes as well as lunchtime and after school sports. Playgrounds
Children’s House Playground

Our students are treated to a secure and expansive play area, featuring a large sandpit and explorational playground and shaded jungle gym. Each day provided the weather is clear, students are supervised by staff while they have fun playing and learning on their own playground.

Lower and Upper Primary Playground

Our Lower Primary to Upper Primary students have the opportunity to play on the purpose built and shaded jungle gym complete with a range of interactive features like a mini telescope and flying fox. During lunchtime, students are supervised while they play and explore.

Mud Pit and Playground

A popular lunchtime activity in summer, students from Lower and Upper Primary thoroughly enjoy their purpose-built mud pit area. We encourage students who want to play in the mud pit to always bring along a spare set of clothing in their bags to change into after mud pit play has finished. Mud pit play encourages students to develop tactile skills through sensory play and gives them a chance to boost creativity without fear in a free-flowing natural environment.

Soccer & Sports Fields

Mainly utilised for Health and Physical Education classes as well as lunchtime and after school sports, our soccer & sports fields offer students another expansive green space to learn and play. These two areas also complete with soccer goal posts.
