Keeping our children safe and confident online

As part of our Health curriculum, BMS students explore different aspects of safety and how these influence their health and wellbeing, including the important topic of cyber safety.

Recently, we welcomed Brett Lee from Internet Safe Education to work with our school community, sharing valuable insights into navigating the online world safely and confidently.

Drawing on his 16-year career as a Child Exploitation Detective, including five years specialising in undercover internet child exploitation investigations, Brett brings a wealth of experience to helping children and young people understand online risks and make safer choices.

Through age-appropriate sessions for Upper Primary students, Secondary students, staff and parents, Brett explored how we can work together to:

👉 Help children recognise risks and stay safe online
👉 Encourage healthy online habits and positive digital experiences
👉 Equip parents, caregivers and teachers with the knowledge to support children in an ever-changing digital world

A huge thank you to Brett for providing these insightful sessions with our school community.

At BMS, we believe supporting children to navigate the online world safely is a shared responsibility. By working together, we can empower our young people to make informed choices, develop healthy digital habits and thrive both online and offline.
