Montessori In Action

Some of our Middle School students are bringing learning to life through an authentic, student-led project by designing and establishing their very own classroom café.

From researching coffee machines to planning the layout and developing a detailed proposal, students have shown incredible initiative, collaboration, and responsibility. Their vision is to create a welcoming space that serves staff, parents, and potentially students, while building real-world skills and strengthening community connections.

As they move from planning to action, students have participated in a supervised field trip to source supplies, making thoughtful, approved purchasing decisions and engaging directly with local businesses. This hands-on experience allows them to take true ownership of their project, applying financial literacy, teamwork, and problem-solving in a meaningful context.

This is Montessori education at its best. Student agency, independence, and purposeful work come together to create something real and impactful.
