Open Days | Brisbane Montessori School

Alongside our termly Tours and Observation Days, there are plenty of other opportunities to visit our school campus throughout the year. Annually, the school host a Middle School Open Evening and Whole School Open Day, which are run outside of school hours. You can read more about these Open Day events below.

Tours and Observations Mornings

To enhance your understanding of a Montessori education, we firstly encourage parents and carers to attend one of our Tours and Observation days.

Our campus tours are run by our parent volunteers and take you on a guided exploration of our Fig Tree Pocket campus, culminating in a 15-20 minute question and answer session with our Principal, Chris Peach.

After the tour, we encourage you to take a classroom observation, where you will be escorted to a classroom to experience a Montessori educational environment. We also provide you with a fact sheet of things to notice in our classrooms, with a section to note down any questions that you may have during your observation session - which often range from 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration.

It is important to note that children are welcome and encouraged to attend our campus tours, but Children's House, Lower and Upper Primary classroom observations are just for parents and carers. Middle School students are welcomed to attend a classroom observation with parent/carer supervision.

Whole School Open Day

Each year, Brisbane Montessori School invited families from across Brisbane to attend our Whole School Open Day, which is set to be held on Saturday, 9 March, 2024.

Our Open Day is your opportunity to hear from and meet with our Principal, Chris Peach, the Senior Leadership Team, Class Directors and staff across the school and take part in a variety of interesting information sessions. These sessions explore key Montessori concepts and detail how we blend and embed the Australian Curriculum within our Montessori learning framework across the year levels. You will also gain an understanding of the different Montessori materials and learning facilities that inspire exploration, and creative and critical thinking skills and develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

The day also consists of staff and parent-led campus tours that give you a chance to experience our classroom environments across the planes.

At our Whole School Open Day, we encourage children to attend, with a range of exciting student performances/demonstrations as well as practical life activities for them to get involved in throughout the day.

Middle School Open Evening

At the beginning of each year in Term 1, our Middle School open their doors for a Middle School Open Evening.

This is your opportunity to learn more about our Australian standard curriculum offerings in English, Maths, STEAM, Art, Drama, Music, and Physical Education, where your child will be well prepared for their high school and tertiary education.

On the evening you will have the opportunity to view a host of student projects and curriculum work as well as hear from Principal, Chris Peach, and Director of Middle School, Ruchika Seth. Student demonstrations and presentations are also available to view on the evening, with a tour of the purpose-built Middle School learning environment.

Our next Middle School Open Evening will take place on Thursday, 13 June, 2024. More information will be available on this event shortly.
